Without seeing lab or biopsy reports, there isn’t any way for me to pinpoint what I suspect it could be. However, you are doing the right thing by seeing your doctor! Keep pushing to get in with your Gynecologist and tell them the issues you have been having. If you have been bleeding a great deal and have started feeling weak, you might be experiencing anemia. You can take ferrous sulfate (iron) to help with this. However, iron can cause you to become constipated and change your stool to a very dark, tarry consistency. You can take Colace to counteract the constipation. If you are in pain, you can take ibuprofen *as long as you aren’t on an anticoagulant such as warfarin (Coumadin). Things that your doctor will be asking include: How much blood have you been passing, what is the consistency of the blood (i.e. thick, thin, lumpy), is there any unusual odor to the blood, have you recently had a miscarriage, how many children have you had, has any of the women in your family been diagnosed with ovarian cancer or any cancer of the reproductive system? Bottom line, find a Gynecologist that can see you soon, I suspect they will want to do several tests. Other than that, talk to your friends or family about your concerns. It is always good to have a support system, even if there isn’t anything wrong. Don’t get overly worried, even if it is a type of cancer, worry can’t help in any way. I wish you the best and would like you to keep us informed.
